United. We Do Business.
Did you know that humans learn better in groups of three than we do by ourselves? Maybe it has something to do with our biological need for social connection. Maybe our brains are hard-wired to thrive when sparked by the thoughts of others. Maybe we just need each other in order to survive. Considering that historians and anthropologists have long describe the human race as “social beings”, as in we cannot sustain the journey of living life alone, it does make sense that we learn best in groups.
Doing business is no different. Consider what it would be like to run a bakery, salon, or even a movie theater if no one besides yourself came to support. Not only would your business fail, but you’d probably feel pretty lonely. Business owners who aim to be successful value their customers’ feelings. They also attend business conferences and join business alliances. At business conferences, business owners gather to share ideas, identify gaps in their own approaches to delivering services to customers. Business alliances are usually formed here, but often times they exist between friends, family, or service chains like the farm-to-table food industry. For example, farmers will partner with farmer’s markets to partner with local restaurants so that restaurant customers can enjoy delicious farm fresh meals.
